Before starting this, make sure your blade is secured in a sheath, or sufficiently covered to protect you from cutting yourself. Tutorial after the jump.
First start out with crossing both ends of the cord over each other like so.

Then wrap each end around the handle crossing them over each other like so.

Continue that down the line like so. Make sure you cinch the cord tight at each step.

And keep it up.

Continue

Same thing on down the handle... Once you skip over the solid part, continue the crossing over.

Keep going, making sure to cinch each step tight.

Almost there... keep cinching tight.

One more, and make sure it's cinched tight.

Wrap one end of the cord around, then loop the other through a hole, making sure you have a bit of cord on both sides and cinch it tight, finish it off with a simple knot.
And there you have the finished product.

Ah. So that's how you do it on those cut out handles. I got a cheapo neck knife I wanna do in orange for the Hell of it.
That's how I do it. I'm sure there are other ways, but this one is quick and simple.
I like quick and simple.
I am ashamed to say I can't get it to work for me. Lol. I must be not following well.
Oop. Figured out that if I do a modified basket weave stitch on this cheapo neck knife (The one you get 3 of for 9.95 at Majors) works.
Guess this gives me a good reason to get an IZULA or a Becker Necker!
All that matters is you found a way that works for you. You may also want to look at the Becker Eskabar. It combines the best of the Necker and the Izula.
